Starting the day by traveling through the old logging towns of Aberdeen and Hoquiam, then heading north on Highway 101 to Lake Quinault. From small towns to majestic rivers and stunning views, the roughly 2 hour drive from Olympia, Washington will give you a great idea of just how many trees are on the Olympic Peninsula.
The tour goes through the cities of Aberdeen, Hoquiam and then through huge old growth forests. With a guided history of the area being given as you take in the sights. Elk are common in the area, as are bald eagles, hawks and even an occasional black bear!
At the stops in Lake Quinault, you will be able to step back into time at one of the quietest places in America. With waterfalls along the road and trails every few miles, we can tae some time and you can stretch your legs and walk in some of the greenest forests you will ever see. Hiking to Pony Bridge and seeing Merriman Falls, you might just want to move here!
This is a car tour with a few short hikes to Pony Bridge and Ruby Beach. Nothing can describe knowing, as we return to Olympia, that you saw some of the best that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer.
