Recently, the State of Colorado had their Governor rename each of their fifty-three 14,000 foot mountains after the Denver Bronco’s Roster.Yes, Colorado has FIFTY-THREE of them, something my Colorado hiking friends have been teasing me about for years.
While the State of Washington only has just one mountain over 14,000 feet, I remind the people in Colorado that our mountains are exciting, not just piles of rock jutting into the beautiful sky. We have Volcanoes, we have mountains that have only been climbed once or twice. We have mountains that look over the Pacific Ocean, Puget Sound and the Salish Sea. They may have taller mountains, but in our clearly biased opinion, we have better views.
Since Colorado though it would be fun to rename their mountains, we here at Exotic Hikes took the time to rename some of ours. Our Governor has better things to do than to put together lists, but if he wanted to approve this, we wouldn’t have any problems. Sound good Jay Inslee?
