Sunday Morning “Drive” Around the Olympic Peninsula
With only a few hours left before Monday rolls around, we can have one last escape and see the Olympic Peninsula. While you may have chores to run, dogs to walk, or kids to take care of, the Olympic Peninsula is showing off her full glory today.
We start in Olympia, where the sun is fighting hard to shine upon our State Capitol. (Hikes: http://exotichikes.com/a-hidden-gem-just-a-few-miles-from-downtown-olympia-and-lacey/)
Next up, we head north along Hood Canal, looking from Silverdale over to the Olympic Mountains. Again, the clouds are lingering, but it just might get absolutely beautiful soon.
Heading north along Highway 101, we hit the city of Sequim, home to Dungeness Spit and the Dungeness Lighthouse (Link: http://exotichikes.com/dungeness-spit/)
Heading west, we come to Port Angeles, where you can not only go to Canada, but also head up into the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula.
Heading south from Port Angeles, the beauty that is Hurricane Ridge is showing off today. ( Link:http://exotichikes.com/hurricane-ridge-hikes/)
From the mountains, we head west again, seeing the amazing Lake Crescent, which is the 2nd deepest lake in the state of Washington. (Link: http://exotichikes.com/lake-crescent-and-marymere-falls-one-of-the-olympic-peninsulas-best-areas/)
Finally, we end this tour with a trip to the coast to see the sea stacks at LaPush. If you have a day off and it is sunny on the coast, you MUST go here!
