On November 21st, 2013, the Olympic National Park released their annual winter press release. While the document is long and not exactly the warmest reading material, we summarize it for you, keeping you in the loop of what you need to know. As of right now, a few campgrounds and resorts are open. However, the National Park Service is only funded through January 15th, so another closure of the parks could occur.
This year will yet again see Hurricane Ridge open part-time and many campgrounds closed. Lodges will be closing soon and numerous visitor centers will be shutdown until March.
Hoh Visitor Center will close December 2nd and will reopen in March.
Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center is open when the road is open.
Olympic National Park Visitor Center in Port Angeles, open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The visitor center will be closed on November 28 for Thanksgiving, and on December 25 for Christmas.
Lake Crescent Lodge is Open until December 31st
Kalaloch Lodge is Open Year Round.
Sol Duc Hot Springs is closed until March
Kalaloch Campground is Open
Graves Creek Campground is Open
Sol Duc Campground is Open
Hoh Campground is Open
Mora Campground is Open
Ozette Campground is Open
Elwha Campground is Open
Staircase Campground is Open
Heart O’ the Hills Campground is Open
All Trails are open, aside from access to the Olympic Hot Springs from the Elwha. Weather conditions can vary. Always be prepared.

Friday through Sunday and Monday holidays from November 29, 2013 through March 30, 2014. Gates Open around 8am and close at 4pm.
The Hurricane Ridge Ski, Snowboard and Tubing Area will be open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Monday holidays from December 7 through March 30, 2014
All vehicles, including four-wheel-drive, must carry tire chains.
Ranger-led snowshoe walks will not be offered this winter.
