National Wildlife Refuges: Free Entry Days 2014

IMG_0967

The National Wildlife Refuges will be free for 7 days in 2014, allowing for some awesome opportunities. With amazing fish and wildlife thriving in our refuges, you really should pay them a visit. These areas are underrated for hiking and are home to some of my favorite memories during my childhood. I grew up birding and watching animals in refuges all across Washington. Going to these locations made me the nature lover I am today. They are what shaped me as a steward of the land and made me passionate about protecting the environment.

Our National Wildlife Refuges offer experiences not seen anywhere else, which is why they are set aside for our benefit and enjoyment. With nearly 1/6th of all Americans visiting a National Wildlife Refuge each year, you should check them out and experience even more of nature’s beauty. Washington State is home to 24 National Wildlife Refuges, each of which is an incredible and beautiful location.
