Lead Guide Douglas Scott has been an avid hiker since the age of 4, when his parents took him on weekend backpacking trips in the North Cascades.
A lover of nature, Douglas Scott created Exotic Hikes to help promote environmentalism and an awareness of the beauty America possesses. He has been employed around numerous national parks, including Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, The Olympics and Mt Rainier. This has given him the time to explore nearly every inch of many of the parks.
He has hiked hundreds of trails in multiple national parks, along with spending many nights in remote, picturesque scenery. He has climbed peaks in the Cascade, Rocky and Olympic Mountain Ranges, and has been rock climbing in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Washington.
Douglas Scott was a member of the United States Peace Corps, serving near Chongqing, China for 2 years. Besides speaking Chinese, he holds a B.S. in History and English from the University of Idaho.
